Spring Nails with Dorta

Nail queen Bethan, founder of Dorta, has kindly created a nail tutorial for us.
Bethan shows us how to create a sweet daisy which might allow us to switch off for a moment or two.
Grab a brew, have a read through and have some fun!

Words from Beth…

Taking care of ourselves has been a big topic of conversation recently. With our usual self-care spots being closed or less accessible, many of us have had to get creative when it comes to perking ourselves up and looking after our minds.

As a nail artist, i find painting tiny designs on my nails can be really soothing for my mind. it’s an opportunity to focus in a way that leaves little room for worry, and seeing a design come together can be so mindful and satisfying.

recently i’ve been trying to focus less on the finished design and more on the process. there are so many possibilities when it comes to nail art, and i’ve found experimenting and having fun with it can lead me to some really interesting discoveries not only in terms of my designs, but in myself too.

i’ve created a simple daisy tutorial to help you loosen up and go with the flow. the point isn’t to be perfect, but to just give it a go and have some fun!

you will need:

• base coat

• clear nail varnish (or any colour)

• two nail varnishes in different colours

• i’ve used the classic white and yellow, but anything will work!

• top coat

• nail art brush

a spare hour or so

spend some time with yourself and get creative!

we hope you loved the tutorial as much as we do.

if you try the tutorial - do tag us both in so we can see!
